‚The soul of man‘ an introductory lecture to the teaching of G.I.Gurdjieff by Wim van Dullemen.
The enigmatic Gurdjieff ( 1866(?)-1949 ) left a legacy consisting of his mythological books, compositions for piano and hundreds of choreographs. Although seemingly diverse all these works stem from one root; Gurdjieff‘s vision on man, man‘s possible evolution and his role in the cosmos. Gurdjieff unfolded his ideas in a logically structured and accessible way from 1913 to 1924, through direct verbal instruction of his pupils. His teaching has only reached us through their explanations. In this lecture, intended to be the first one of a series of 4, an overview of Gurdjieff‘s teaching will be given in a non-dogmatic, free and open way and questions will be wellcomed. Wim van Dullemen has studied many years with pupils of Gurdjieff and has performed his music and taught his dances since 1995.
